The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA), is conducted by National Institute of Advanced Studies in Architecture (NIASA), which is a body of Council of Architecture, New Delhi in India. The National Aptitude Test in Architecture is a national level examination for admission to undergraduate courses in architecture. The test measures the aptitude of applicants for a specific field of study in areas like drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking, qualities that have been acquired over a long period of time and that are related to architecture.
NATA or the JEE Mains Paper 2 exam are prescribed by the Council of Architecture as a compulsory criterion for taking admission to any Architectural College or course in India.
Schedule of Examination
Those candidates who have already appeared for NATA 2024 and availed of one, two, or three attempts and obtained a valid NATA 2024 score, may also apply for NATA 2025 but their NATA 2024 score shall be frozen. Their NATA 2025 score shall be calculated/determined as under, depending upon number of attempts:

The candidates need to indicate their preference of the city/region and date of the test while registering at NATA portal www.nata. in. The session during which the candidate will take the test as well as the Test Centres, shall be allotted by the Council, as far as possible, based on cities/ regions preferred by the candidate in the application form. However, the decision of the Council in allotting the Test Centre and session to candidates shall be final.

Syllabus:

1.Scheme of examination
- National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is being conducted by the Council of Architecture at national level for admission to 5 year B.Arch Degree Course at all recognized institutions across India.
- NATA scores are used by admissions authorities of different Government, Govt. Aided & Unaided schools / colleges of Architecture.
- The test measures drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability.
- The test is in two parts: The first part is a paper based drawing test and the second part is an online test with multiple choice questions on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and General Aptitude Test.
- Nata is held as a one day examination, twice a year, across the country.
- The Duration of Nata exam is of 3 hours and total marks for the exam is out of 200.
- Aspiring candidates can register themselves on http://nata.in/ by filling in the Nata online application forms.
2.NATA 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates fulfilling the below criteria prescribed by the Council can appear for NATA 2025:
Passed or appearing in 10+1 Examination with subjects specified under 5.2.
Passed or appearing in 10+2 Examination with subjects specified under 5.2.
Passed or appearing in 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as a subject.
However, the admission to B.Arch., Course shall be made as per the eligibility prescribed in the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations, 2020 and as stated in para 5.2 herein below:
Candidates may note that NATA 2025 is the qualifier Aptitude Test for admission to B.Arch. program offered by Universities / Institutions in the country, subject to the fulfillment of eligibility criteria as prescribed by the Council.
QUALIFYING IN NATA 2025 DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A RIGHT / GUARANTEE IN FAVOUR OF THE CANDIDATE FOR ADMISSION TO ANY ARCHITECTURE COURSE UNLESS THE CANDIDATE HAS FULFILLED ALL THE PRESCRIBED REQUIREMENTS AS SPECIFIED BY RESPECTIVE COMPETENT AUTHORITIES IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE ELIGIBILIY CRITERIA LAID DOWN BY THE COUNCIL.
5.2 Admission to First year of B.Arch. Program
The Council of Architecture, with the approval of the Central Government, has prescribed the eligibility for admission to 1st year of 5-year B.Arch. Degree Course as prescribed under Regulation 4(1) of the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations 2020, which is stated as under:
*No candidate shall be admitted to Architecture course unless she/he has passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with either Chemistry or Biology or Technical Vocational subject or Computer Science or Information Technology or Informatics Practices or Engineering Graphics or Business Studies with at least 45% marks in aggregate or passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 45% marks in aggregate.
5.3 Reservations under different categories
Reservation as well as relaxation in qualifying marks for the reserved category for the purpose of
admission is a prerogative of the Admission / Counselling Authority and does not fall under the purview of this examination.
The CoA has revised the NATA eligibility criteria 2025 Every candidate must fulfil the NATA eligibility criteria before filling out the application form:
- Age Limit: There is no age limit to apply for NATA 2025.
- Subjects in Class 12: Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with either Chemistry or Biology or Technical Vocational subjects or Computer Science or Information Technology or Informatics Practices or Engineering Graphics or Business Studies.
- Qualifications: The candidates must have passed the 12th-level examination from a recognised board.
- Marks: Candidates must have scored at least 45% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination.
Diploma Holders: Candidates should have passed the 10+3 diploma examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject with at least 45% marks in aggregate.

4.NATA 2025 Exam Pattern
The authorities have released the official NATA 2025 exam pattern online. The details regarding how the entrance examination will be held can be checked through the NATA exam pattern 2025. Understanding the exam pattern is essential for candidates to secure good scores in the entrance examination. According to the exam pattern of NATA 2025, the entrance examination will be held as a computer-based and offline test for 3 hours. The candidates will have to attempt objective multiple-choice, drawing and composition tests. According to the type of questions, the marks will be allotted. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers. The total marks of the NATA 2025 question paper is 200.
