Key Point

  • Categories of Questions:
    • Category 1: +1 mark for correct answer; -0.25 for incorrect.
    • Category 2: +2 marks for correct answer; -0.5 for incorrect.
    • Category 3: +2 marks for correct answer; no negative marking.
  • Duration: Each paper is 2 hours.
  • Schedule: Both papers are conducted on the same day in two sessions.

To appear for WBJEE 2025, candidates must meet the following criteria:

1. Educational Qualification

  • For Engineering Courses: Must have passed or appearing in Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/Computer Application as compulsory subjects. A minimum aggregate of 45% (40% for reserved categories) in the above subjects is required.
  • For Pharmacy Courses: Must have passed or appearing in Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology. A minimum aggregate of 45% (40% for reserved categories) in the above subjects is required.

2. Age Limit

  • Candidates must be at least 17 years old as of December 31, 2025. There is no upper age limit for most courses; however, for Marine Engineering, the upper age limit is 25 years.

3. Domicile Requirement

  • While both West Bengal and non-West Bengal residents can appear for WBJEE, certain reservations and seat allotments are specific to West Bengal domiciled candidates.

The syllabus is based on the Class 11 and 12 curriculum.
