Step-by-Step Explanation

The NMIMS-CET is a computer-based test (CBT) consisting of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The exam is structured to assess students’ aptitude in subjects relevant to engineering and pharmacy programs. Below is a step-by-step breakdown of the exam pattern:

Step 1: Mode of Exam

  • The NMIMS-CET is conducted online as a computer-based test (CBT).
  • Candidates must take the exam at designated test centers or via remote proctoring (as per official guidelines).

Step 2: Type of Questions

  • The exam consists only of multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
  • Each question has four answer options, out of which only one is correct.

Step 3: Number of Sections & Subjects Covered

The exam comprises questions from the following subjects:

  1. Physics
  2. Chemistry
  3. Mathematics/Biology (depending on the chosen program)
  4. Logical Intelligence
  5. Language Proficiency

Step 4: Exam Duration

  • The total duration of the exam is 120 minutes (2 hours).
  • There is no sectional time limit, meaning candidates can navigate between sections freely.

Step 5: Number of Questions & Marks Distribution

Step 6: Marking Scheme

  • Correct Answer: +1 mark
  • Incorrect Answer: No negative marking
  • Unattempted Questions: No marks deducted

Step 7: Medium of Examination

  • The exam is conducted only in English.

Step 8: Test Interface & Navigation

  • Candidates will be provided with a test interface on their computer screen.
  • They can navigate between sections and mark questions for review.
