UPCATET 2025

The Uttar Pradesh Combined Agriculture and Technology Entrance Test (UPCATET) is a state-level entrance exam conducted for admission into undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in agriculture and related fields. The exam is conducted by one of the four participating universities in Uttar Pradesh on a rotational basis.

For UG Courses:

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 (Intermediate) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC).
  • The candidate must have studied relevant subjects based on the course applied for (Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics/Agriculture, etc.).
  • The minimum age limit is 16 years.

For PG Courses:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories).
  • The minimum age limit is 19 years.

For Ph.D. Programs:

  • A Master’s degree in the respective field with at least 60% marks (55% for reserved categories).

Domicile Requirement:

Only candidates who are residents of Uttar Pradesh or have UP domicile certificates can apply.

Exam Pattern:

  • Mode of Exam: Offline (Pen-Paper Based)
  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Total Questions: 200 (MCQs)
  • Marking Scheme: +3 for correct answers, -1 negative marking for incorrect answers

The syllabus is based on the qualifying exam level and varies depending on the course applied for.

  • For UG Courses: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, Agriculture Science
  • For PG Courses: Subject-Specific Knowledge, General Agriculture, Logical Reasoning
