The college was started in the year 1991 and is named after our beloved former prime minster Late Sri.Rajiv Gandhi with the basic aim that the institute must rank the best in the state of Karnataka in particular and in India as well. This institute has all the necessary facilities required for academic excellence and to promote personality development among the students so that the students passing out of this institute should not be inferior or substandard for want of their basic needs. Almost all the governing body members are highly qualified Pharmacy professionals & academicians whose expertise will help in doing full justice to the Pharmacy course by maintaining education standard & professional ethics pas excellence.

RMESCP offers a range of pharmacy courses to train students at diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels:
- Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) – 2 years.
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) – 4 years, 60 intake.
- Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) – 2 years; Specializations:
- Pharmaceutics – 18 seats
- Pharmaceutical Chemistry – 10 seats
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) – 6 years, 30 intake.
The college follows RGUHS curriculum with emphasis on research, innovation, and clinical training.

- D.Pharm: ₹45,000 – ₹60,000 per year
- B.Pharm: ₹70,000 – ₹90,000 per year
- M.Pharm: ₹1,00,000 – ₹1,20,000 per year
